It is not possible to drive through the Island, and entry into the protected area of the island is only allowed with a special permit. The paid parking area in the northern part of the island provides parking spaces for 306 cars and 5 buses.
On the days of the summer events at the Margitszigeti Open-Air Theater, we recommend an option for those arriving by car to make the venue more accessible. Star Park, located at 1139 Budapest, Teve utca 2, in front of the Police Palace, welcomes parking guests. The parking fee is 200 HUF per hour, or 3000 HUF for 24 hours. From the bus stop next to the parking lot, bus number 26 departs from the Open-Air Theater stop, with increased frequency during performances. More information about the parking lot is available here.
Only electric and certain plug-in hybrid cars are allowed to drive into the island, making the “Bolt Green” category, which operates with electric and plug-in hybrid cars, an ideal choice. If users set Margaret Island as their destination or pick-up point, they will be served by the “Margit sziget car” dedicated category. For Bolt Business users’ orders, the “Green Business” category will automatically appear as an option. Another advantage of using Bolt is that the Pre-order feature is now available for all passengers.
